Hello, I'm Fiona —

and This Is Why I Press Flowers

Welcome to Work by Nature, where I capture fleeting moments of calm in wearable art. I'm Fiona Yanyi Tsang, and after a life-changing Zen moment in a Kyoto temple garden, I knew I had to create something meaningful.

Now, from my studio in St Albans, I handcraft pressed flower jewellery and botanical resin jewellery, preserving the delicate beauty of real UK wildflowers in every piece.

Each necklace, ring, and earring tells a story of mindfulness and connection to nature—a gentle reminder to slow down and breathe. I work with premium materials like 18K gold-plated brass and high-grade resin to create artisan jewellery that feels as meaningful as it looks.

Whether you're searching for a gift that speaks from the heart or a personal talisman for yourself, my handmade jewellery UK collection brings a touch of nature's serenity into your everyday life.

The Journey:

How a Kyoto Garden Changed Everything

It began with a pause — one I desperately needed. In 2017, I was deep in Hong Kong's corporate world, burning out fast. I took a trip to Kyoto, hoping to find some clarity.

Standing alone in a quiet temple garden, surrounded by moss and maple trees, something shifted.

For the first time in years, I felt still. Truly still. That moment of Zen changed everything. I wanted to bottle that feeling, to carry a piece of nature's calm with me always. That's when Work by Nature was born.

Now, I create from my studio in St Albans, surrounded by Hertfordshire's gardens and green spaces. My philosophy hasn't changed since that moment in Kyoto: jewellery should be more than decoration.

It should be an anchor. A breath.

In our fast-paced world, my botanical resin jewellery offers you a tangible connection to nature's slow, gentle rhythms. I believe in slow living, mindfulness, and honouring the imperfect beauty of the natural world.

My creation process is deeply personal and unhurried. It starts when I wander through local gardens and meadows, carefully collecting real UK wildflowers—Forget-Me-Nots that remind you to cherish memories, Daisies that celebrate new beginnings, delicate speedwell blooms that catch the light.

Back in my St Albans studio, I press each flower with care, preserving its colour and form. Then comes the meditation of resin work: I encapsulate these botanical treasures in crystal-clear, eco-friendly resin, sealing in their beauty forever. Each piece is finished with 18K gold-plated brass for warmth and durability.

This artisan approach means no two pieces are ever exactly alike—just like no two flowers are identical.

Today, Work by Nature is still just me, working alone in my studio, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Every piece of pressed flower jewellery passes through my hands—from the moment I collect the flower to the final polish.

I'm committed to sustainable practices, right down to the paper-based packaging I use. When you wear one of my pieces, you're not just wearing a flower. You're wearing a moment of stillness. A story of transformation from burnout to blooming. A reminder that beauty is fleeting, and that's exactly why we should cherish it.

Thank you for being here, for slowing down long enough to read my story. I hope my jewellery brings you the same sense of calm it brings me to create it.

Local, Sustainable & Ethical

Now, I handcraft each piece from my home studio in St Albans, using UV resin, flowers collected across the UK (including London), and natural materials like Hong Kong seashells. I am committed to working with sustainable materials and mindful packaging. Most of my packaging is paper-based with minimal plastic, and each item is finished in gold or 925 silver plating to add durability and elegance.

Supporting local, handmade jewellery brands like mine helps reduce environmental impact while supporting independent creatives here in the UK.

Every necklace, bracelet, and pair of earrings tells a story. Each one reflects the seasonal beauty I see and the quiet Zen moments I hold close. Whether you're in London, St Albans, or anywhere in the UK, I hope you feel that calm, joy, and connection in the jewellery you wear.
